Barb, that sounds exactly like what I have, just a little north of Detroit.
I bought a compressed air reservoir tank, and fill it at a gas station.
Found a fitting at Damman's hardware that screws on a spigot and another
that mates with the first and is like a valve stem on a tire. So I can
attach the fitting to one spigot and blow compressed air through it to blow
out all of the lines. Cheap, easy, and I haven't had a problem in the last
3 winters.
