We have overwintered Scabiosa "Butterfly Blue" very successfully. We chose
it based on it being an award-winner, among other things. This spring we
had to move the plants and they didn't mind...in fact a week ago they began
to bloom and are full of blooms right now. I cut back the dead flowers (at
the base of the stem) regularly, which helps them bloom all summer. Placed
in front of white shastas (also blooming now) it is very soft and frothy,
and we have had excellent luck with it.
