Hello Marilyn,
Believe I have the "true" or "real" Johnson's Blue here in the garden. I
purchased it many years back, I believe, from Lambs. I have tried to locate it
ever since from wholesalers, but gave up after receiving a mounding flopper or
reading descriptions I knew was wrong.
I checked mine out with Peter Yeo's book and it seems to key out. Very stiffly
upright in habit.. more like a small shrub. Large leaves, light violet-blue
flowers. Cut it back and it re-blooms. It is not completely sterile... does seed a
bit. I have offered a few seeds in the past.
Isn't the world of cultivars wonderful?
