Re: varigated Ivy, Creeping Charlie

Well, Nancy, since I first read your query, I've pondered on it.
Creeping Charlie is not a true ivy, tho' it's also called ground ivy
- real name is Glechoma hederacea - also has been called
gill-over-the-ground. It spreads by rooting runners and seed. It's
fast growing and you might try it - can't say I've ever heard of its
being used for this purpose. Am not sure it would be worth the
trouble as, unlike Hedera helix (ivy) new runners are very lax until
they hit soil and root. If you give it a go, let us know if it
works.
