Hi Bill & Claire, I think my Blue Bells are Scilla hispanoides. I have
Mertensia virginica in a different area and enjoy it a lot. They are very
different plants. I would love it if my Mertensia would multiply faster and
the Scilla wouldn't !

Claire, I wonder if they're the tuberous Mertensia Virginica
instead--Virginia Bluebells. A local daffodil friend had hundreds growing
in
an area she wanted to convert to a daffodil bed. I was the lucky recipient
of what she was going to throw away. Now I have them everywhere. I don't
think it is possible to have too many.
