Thanks for the good advice on stachys.  I discovered last year that it 
looked a lot better where I cut it back hard in the spring, but I didn't 
experience quite as much dead foliage last year as I did this year.  Maybe 
it's because we had such a wet spring.

Does it need to be divided very often?  I'm really bad about digging and 
dividing plants...I like to buy 'em and plant 'em, but once they're in the 
ground, I'm pretty lousy at maintenance!
