dividing stachys

I just dig them up by the shovel full and plop them where I want them,
water well for a couple of weeks.  I must be strange but I like the tall
flowers, especially when so much else is past bloom they add a little
touch to a garden.  I have them planted under Guy de Maussipant <sp>
roses and they look great.
Thanks for the hint about trimming hard in the spring. I have been to
cautious with them in that regard
