Were they perennial? If so you haven't got much time to get after them
before they go dormant. Dig them up and replant in a different spot. Most
poppies like a highpH so dig in some lime and cross your fingers. Moving a
plant, any plant, will often do the trick. Six hours of sun seems enough for
oriental poppies.
You mentioned your previous home. If these plants have had only one year in
the new spot you may have to wait a year for new root formation.
