Hi Claire,
I think it could be a wonderful idea. Being a beginner to gardening, I would love
to tour other peoples gardens for both plant ideas and design ideas. I just
really enjoy seeing what other people have created. Every time I go to my
sister's house, I have to tour her garden. I would have loved to visit Gene's
garden on the day he opened it up to the members of this group, but my new job
kept me from being able to attend. Phooey!
I do see one possible down side to this. If you, the "host", are very busy
working in the garden, you could lose a lot of time to answering questions from
the visitor. Some people may not mind this, others might. There may not be alot
of questions, other times it might be endless.
Give it a try. Who knows, it could prove to be a rewarding experience (sharing
your knowledge with beginners like me) or it could also bring some headaches when
the generally rude people show up, especially ones like have been discussed on
this group who want you to give them some of this and some of that......... If
it doesn't work, you can just stop putting the sign up.
