Larry,
I tell ya I know nothing about Japanese Beetles, but here in the Pacific NW
the arch enemy of the Hosta is all thats slimy, slugs snails of all kinds.
We put a ring of copper pipe or flat strips of copper around the plant.
Slug and snail slim reacts electrically w/ copper. You can almost here the
ochs and screams at night. Do snails curse?

Subject: Question for you to help me with
I do call in radio show and this morning one of the questions that I
didn't know how to answer was.
I have hostas and in the fall the japenese beetles eat the leaves? What
can I do?
I was surprised I didn't think they ate green, could it be the slugs but
she thinks she see the beetles around the plant? Let me know what you
think....Becky Litterer, Dougherty Becky's Greenhouse
