Joannie The voles did not go thru the hardware cloth... they went over.... no top to the cages as the lilies had to come up out of them. Flaw in the design.

I wonder how in the devil voles could get through hardware cloth? Or could there be some other kind of pest that likes to dine on lily bulbs? Like grubs?
