You're right; I hadn't realized that! Poking around I see that
others aren't quite sure what the relationship is either, but
Internet Brands was purchased last year for $640 million.

The question is, who is the new owner?

It sounds like NameMedia might just be another name (like a DBA for
Internet Brands).

It also looks like Dave Whitinger sold off davesgarden.com in 2006,
so this is the second sale. He started up some new sites, was sent
a cease and desist by NameMedia, and then sued them.

(slow-loading page, but it gets there eventually). I can see why
NameMedia sued; the site has a very similar look-and-feel.

Since I'm not flush with cash right now I think I'm just going to
send a DMCA takedown notice. I don't want to get attorney's
involved and I don't think that davesgarden.com is responsible
for the infringement. It would be nice to pursue it further, but
I think my time and money is better spent elsewhere right now.
I do appreciate all of the comments, suggestions, and support!

Chris
