re: more shade plants

In addition to the Anemone pulsatilla, try some of the
fall-blooming Japanese Anemones in partial shade: for example,
September Charm (pink) and Honorine Jobert (white). For spring blooms,
try Anemone sylvestris.
Also, there are the bulb anemones such as blanda and nemerosa.
Other shade tolerant bulbs such as the snowdrops (Galanthus), winter
aconite (Eranthis), Erythronium, and Trillium.
In addition to pink-blooming Lamium, there's a white one called
"White Nancy" and a yellow-blooming Lamiastrum that takes shade very
well.
I didn't notice the lungworts (Pulmonaria) on your list, but
they are wonderful in partial shade and are now showing up in many great
hybrid forms with silvery coloring on the leaves. There are lungworts
that bloom in white (esp. Sissinghurt White), blue, pink turning to
blue, and pink (Pierre's Pink).
I have used Astilbe in partial shade that is sufficiently moist,
and, although they may not bloom as well as in sun in a bog situation,
they do look very nice.
Prunella webbiana "Pink Loveliness" is a nice complement to the
blue ajuga you mention.
How about meadow rue (Thalictrum)? It likes some of the same
conditions as Aquilegia (columbine). Also, consider the genus Dicentra,
especially the lovely white bleeding heart. Similar flowers in yellow,
pink, or blue come on the shade tolerant Corydalis.
There are also lots of woodland wildflowers that take quite a
bit of partial shade such as Geranium maculatum, Phlox divaricata,
Cimifugia racemosa (bugbane), and wood poppy (Stylophorum).
For very early bloom in partial shade, try Hellebores (sometimes
called Christmas rose or Lenten rose) and epimedium. And don't forget
ferns of all kinds! Also, blue forget-me-nots on Brunnera macrophylla.
Iris cristata and phlox stolonifera are shade tolerant in well drained
but moist soil too.

Hope this helps,
