I had 2 sides of my yard lined 10 feet deep with goutweed, plus an abundance
of patches out front when I first moved here.
The first time through I tried Roundup, but it only deformed the leaves
for a short time. I ended up using a turning fork and digging them all
out by hand. It took a few days, but they come out remarkably well if
you get below the roots. They also tend to come out in fairly large
clumps if the ground is somewhat dry.
I still find stragglers popping up every once in a while, but these
are easily removed with a hand trowel.
