Re: knautica macedonica


Susan,
I have grown it in open borders for some years.  It seems very hardy here,
down to below minus 10C, anyway, and probably lower.  Its a very good border
plant and has been flowering for six weeks so far and still has time to go. 

I grow another very large member of the family: Cephalaria gigantea.  This
grows to over six feet in my borders and has pale yellow flowers.  Its a
very good back of border subject, although it needs staking.
