Dig out the calamine and then the Round-up!
It sounds as though you found the poison ivy, the red stems is a good clue.
Actually the leaves can look slightly different depending on where you are,
but it's 3 leaves with at least one side has a "jagged" edge. The leaves can
be small or quite large. Even after the plant has died from herbicide be very
careful in handling and disposing of the vine and leaves (rubber gloves and
really scrub up after you throw it all - even the gloves - away!
I am very allergic to poison ivy and have used two gallons of Round-Up in the
past month on my new yard..and I keep finding more of the ivy...it's my enemy!
