Marie,
I agree with you about monarda. Last year I purchased a Monarda Rose Geranium
scented from Goodwin Creek Gardens and am anxiously awaiting for it to bloom.
It is forming buds now.
I also have Croftway Pink which has been with me and divided for a number of
years. One Monarda I planted in full sun (this is sun for about 8-9 hours a
day) went rampant! So most of my Monarda's are now in some sun and shade,
they are much better controled this way.
Does anyone have Centaurea macrocephala (Golden Thistle)? I am also anxiously
awaiting for this to bloom as well as Helenium autumale (Sneezeweed) and
Solidago caesia (Wreath Goldenrod). All of these were purchased from Goodwin
Creek.
Still waiting for the hollyhock to flower, it has tons of buds, and everyday I
go out to see if anything is happening! Some of the buds have turned yellow,
I just hope I don't get rust as I did on black hollyhock last year. I was a
gorgeous plant but had to remove because it was covered with rust. I read not
to replant hollyhock in same spot where a previous diseased one was, is this
true?
So long for now
Janice
