Re: Blue flowers

Two plants I grow as annuals, which may be winter hardy below Zone 6a, are
Cynoglossum amabile and Salvia farinacea. the cynoglossum ultimately grows
about 12-18" tall and has sprays of very small perfect little light blue
flowers. somewhere I read that they "melt" when you cut them and use them in
a vase, but I've had some thriving for nearly a week now.

Salvia farinacea has a navy blue spike of flowers and the stem is also navy
blue. Put it in a vase with some bright yellow helianthemum. wow. The
cynoglossum seeds freely. The salvia less so. With our veyr mild winter this
year some of my salvia survived, as did some snapdragons and some Homestead
verbena.

Sorry about the mention of annuals on the perennails list.
