I am very new to gardening (my first year!) I have drooled over
magazines since the winter, planning out my front bed. When spring
finally came, I went out and bought the 'right' perennials for my zone
(3) and waited with eager anticipation for it to look like the magazine
flowerbeds. I have babied my perennials, but theystill look sparse and
bland, (very few flowers and small plants) not at all what I was hoping
for. Is the magazine garden attainable? I realize perennials take a
few years to look their best, but is there something I can do in the
meantime? How do you get a flowerbed to look full and lush? I try so
hard (including moving things around,) yet it doesn't seem to help.
Does anyone have anything to suggest?
