Re: Moving plants

Lisa:
I moved from Kansas zone 5 to Missouri zone 6, 5 years ago. It was in
August and very, very hot. I thought, "what the heck, if I don't try I won't
have any plants to start with". So, I dug up parts of most of my plants and
all of some of my plants. I put them in the trunk of the car in plastic
bags, dampened them down and moved them. A 6 hour drive in August. I dug a
trench when I got there and heeled them all in until I could find homes for
them. I kept them watered after heeling them in. The next Spring they all
had survived except one. I had moved them before a short distance and let's
face it, I was attached to some of them. So, if you don't try, you won't
ever know if it can be done or not. Wish you great success and a happy move.
