I think you should try again now when you're moving to a cooler climate. And
this time try M x Scheldonii. It's easier from seeds than M. betonicifolia.
And do get them outside long before they grow as high as 10 inches!!
If you like I can send you seeds in the autumn. They usually germinate
without any cold treatment.
