Plants not yet discussed

I have some favorite plants that I've not seen discussed by the group
and would like to know if you know them, how you grow them, what you
combine them with, any warnings or good- or bad-luck stories. My list:

1. Astrantia (masterwort) - I have 3 clumps of the white and have just
put in 3 of the red (rubra). Two of the whites are combined with
variegated Solomon's Seal, white lilies, and a blue bush clematis in
part shade. The reds I have with some heuchera (green with red & silver
leaves), blue siberian iris, more lilies, and some red & pink roses.

2. Nepeta siberica - I was surprised how well this did in part shade!
Have just moved clumps around near daylilies and bearded iris.

3. Honeysuckle vines. My red-orange one doesn't bloom as profusely as I
think it should and usually ends up with mildew in late summer. Any
ideas?

4. Ligularias -- I've had the Desdemona but now only have the
przewalskii (which I haven't checked the spelling on!) -- like 'The
Rocket' only leaves are more deeply incised (prettier foliage, I think)
and it doesn't wilt in heat as readily. It's with the kiringeshoma,
ferns, hostas, & tall purple astible -- some yellow daylilies near the
front echo the yellows in the back. Sparse bloom though -- should it do
better?

5. Thalictrum -- I've only grown the tall airy davideum or
rochebroneanum (sorry, I'm not stopping to check spellings today!) and
they always need staking, though I love them in part shade. Any other
varieties you'd recommend?

6. Amsonia (blue stars) -- I love this as a background foliage plant!
What other perennials do you all use that have great foliage to set off
flowers in front? Echinops is also great and also does better in part
shade than I'd have thought.

What about your own personal favorites we haven't discussed recently?
