Devon,
I've never tried to grow these before, either. Given our Spring this year,
it's not surprising that my sister's plants are about 3 feet tall. Her
foxgloves are even bigger. Both are in a partly-shaded spot.
We're just about as humid as you are here in KY. I'll keep you updated
thru the summer.
