Well everyone,
Today I marched myself to our local library and got
the American Horticulture Book off the shelf. (For
those who have not perused this monster, you need
weightlifter's muscles to get it off the shelf!! It
is a heavy duty book). I checked out the campanula
glomerata, as Vivien suggested, and there it was, with
several variants. When I checked my e-mail this
afternoon, Clever Julie had nailed it down also. It
is officially CAMPANULA GLOMERATA JOAN ELLIOT. Do you
think I should write to Spring HIll and tell them what
they are selling disguised as Geranium, Johnsons Blue?
I'm happy to say that you can all sleep easy tonight
knowing that aliens are not plunking down strange
flowers in Ohio. Thank you all for the help in
solving the identity of my mystery flower.
Jeanne
