Hello Susan,
My deepest sympathy on the damage to your garden, I know how badly it can
make you feel to see all your hard work destroyed maliciously. I do not
recall the thread about vandalism, but I would suggest getting together with
your other neighbors and perhaps forming a neighborhood watch, particularly
when you intend to be away for more than a few hours.
The other thing you can do is contact the local police (or sheriff)
department and asking them to come out to advise you and your neighbors about
other steps you can take to protect your property. Many departments have
neighborhood outreach programs that specifically address this sort of problem.
