I moved a Professor Sargent from NC to MD (Zone 7) about 20 years ago. It
is planted facing East against the house. It has done beautifully and
blooms profusely eash year. So it is not in full sun, but has never
sunburned. Even with severe winters (which we haven't had for a long time)
it might lose a few leaves, but did not die.
