I don't mean to put a damper on your collecting, but before you plant them
in your garden be very certain that you've identified the plant correctly.

Some wild flowers can be real garden thugs when they're removed from their
natural habitat and placed in a cultivated garden. In the wild, the soil
is poor, they get too much or not enough water, they have to compete with
neighbouring plants, and highway crews mow them down 2 or 3 times a summer.
Your garden is paradise compared to this.

I'm not saying not to harvest plants from the roadside--just do your
research well. Don't transplant a potential thug and don't try to remove
any endangered plants.
