Well, now y'all have me worried. I hope Janice's book is right, and
chocolate cosmos is hardy to zone 7. I decided I wanted some, and my mom
mentioned it as well, so I started looking at every nursery I visited.
Nobody had it. In fact, most of the places weren't familiar with it.
Anyway, my husband got tired of hearing me ask about it, so he ordered a
half-dozen plants for my mom and I for Mother's day. He'll be real unhappy
if they don't survive!
And, I have to admit, you guys have been less than enthusiastic about the
properties of this plant. Has anyone grown it successfully?
One of my plants has its first bud about ready to open. I check on it a
couple of times a day...Gee, I hope it does well for me. I planted two in a
shady spot, and two in a fairly sunny spot. Hopefully one or the other
will be happy. I guess Mom has to grow hers in pots (zone 5)
