Re: Hollyhocks

hello Gene

so that's where you've been "on vacation" some folks are so lucky.
not sure my husband and I will go anywhere this year. The Dr. still
won't let my husband drive. (had an accident 2 yrs ago) and I'm not
nearly brave enough to venture out or undertake that kind of
journey.....will wait until next year and try to go to DC and visit our
son. I can fly or take the Amtrack and leave the driving to someone
else.

when you began telling about you trip to the old town, the first thing
I thought of was genealogy. I have been workiing on my family tree for
over a year now. I got as far back as 1815 and hit a brick wall and
haven't found anything else. I'll keep trying tho.
1860 that must have been an interesting place to see. I would truely
love to visit that place, not only for the gardens, but the history
you must have discovered there. I envy you for seeing the hollyhocks
and thanks for the prayers. Lord knows I need them. however my
hollyhocks look very promising. they are still alive and the insects
have left them alone so far. maybe they can't find them. that would
be a first, given the number of insects this year. they have been
terrible in our area. something has been nibbling on my black eyed
susans and blanket flowers, but something is nibbling on just about
everything.

well thanks for the post. glad to hear you had a enjoyable trip, and
again thanks for the prayers
