Re: Hollyhocks

Donna - I'm pretty certain my problem is rust and slugs. We
had some very heavy rain in the spring and slugs everywhere.
It's been dry for a couple of weeks, but last night we had
heavy rain and I went out to look at the survivor and sure
enough, there was a snail having a feast.

However, what I didn't say was that the survivor has got a
flower bud!!! I think it'll be a few weeks before it
flowers yet. I'll let you know if it comes up to
expectations. Then, because of the terrible rust problem I
seem to have lurking in the soil of my garden, I'll rip the
plant out and not grow hollyhocks again!

Anyway, I'm pleased that your 8 are okay.
