hello Bill,
I was a member of the PPA for 3 or 4 years. Dropped out last year when the
dues went up once more and they wanted an additional fee.... and an additional
fee... for services (?). My big gripe with them at the time was exactly what
everyone is expressing here. But then this argument goes on all the time in the
nursery and landscaping industry. And within the PPA. People (customers) want what
their neighbors have... they do not want to be on the cutting edge of
horticulture.... or so the theory goes. So, the industry does not stock since you
will not purchase. You do not purchase because they do not have... sigh.
One good thing the PPA does do and that is some of the best symposiums I have
ever attended at reasonable prices. We could not get a decent symposium around
here until the PPA brought some in couple of years ago.
