I've got two of them. I bought one of those junk mail daylily collections of
twelve different varieties (mostly because my neighbor was going to order
them anyway-she was addicted to that sort of stuff and the price was pretty
low. They arrived sealed in plastic and not unnaturally the roots were
rather soggy and moldy. We wrote and complained about condition but planted
the collection anyway. They sent us a second collection each, and they were
in the same condition-so again I stuck them in the ground and didn't expect
much. They bloomed this past year and it looks like almost every plant
survived despite the really bad shape they appeared to be in.
I knew they wouldn't be blue despite the pictures I have seen, since
daylilies lack the genes to produce the true blue colour like you get in
dephiniums, but I think the lavenderish colour is quite attractive and look
forward to seeing them reach the stage where I can start dividing them.
