Phlomis russeliana is a neat plant - mine did not last long as I am
certain it was not getting enough sun. Needs good drainage, but
does not want to dry out totally. Really need more than one to make
a good stand, IMO. My one plant seemed a bit lost all by itself.
Keep meaning to replace it and try it in another spot. Phlomis is a
very intriguing genus.

Mine is only 2 years in the garden - sources say it takes 3 to show
its stuff, so this ought to be the year. Also said to grow well in
part shade, but I do think it will appreciate all the sun you can
give it because my clump, in part shade is leaning toward the
light:-) Am looking forward to getting mine to look like photos I've
seen of this plant - quite nifty.
