Val,
I grow 'The Pearl' in soggy but fertile soil and it does well for me - long
lasting flowers and succession growth. I have heard that there are lots of
variants on the Pearl, coming from sports of Achillea which look a lot like
it, but genetically aren't quite the same, but have all over time been
lumped together under the name. It may be that you have one of those.....
So far, I haven't noticed it being invasive, rather clumping up nicely in a
way I want it to & it seems to be quite controllable (not a case of famous
last words, I hope). It grows up against a high wooden fence which has
clematis viticella Foxtrot and a cotoneaster on it & the combination is
quite good. Next to it I have phlox Franz Schubert.
