Re: Daylilies


I'll agree with Tracy DeSabato-Aust...they really are ugly spent
flowers, but so are bearded Iris..and about the same
consistency...also have some rhodies and azaleas who will not self
clean and look pretty dreadful.  They dying of flowers is one of
those things we have to put up with if we want to enjoy them in the
fullness of their beauty.

I am an erratic dead-header.  If it gets sufficiently on my nerves, I
will deal with it.  Will generally take care of the ones right at the
walk entrance and turn a blind eye to those down by the drive...those
whose buds have managed to escape bambi, that is.
