I was watching a program on the HGTV channel and they were talking about
a sand called  Silca Sand (not sure if that is the correct way to spell
it,  it is used for sand blasting)  anyway the lady was sprinkling it
over seed that she had planted and she used it to hold her seed in place
when it rained and that it would also keep the slugs away.  she said
that they would not crawl on it.  I think she said that it would cut
them.
I checked with Marvin's here in town,  but they are a small operation
here.  I will have to check with Lowe's I guess.    I need it for my
slopes,  when it rains it washes my seed away.
you might want to check with others and see if anyone  has tried this.
