Interestingly, Bill, there is a thread on pink bloodroots going on
currently on Trillium-L. Jim McClements posted that he also has same
as you from Collectors and that its first year showed very little
pink, but subsequently has alternating pink and white petals and that
the pink fades quickly, but, as he rightfully points out, bloodroot
flowers only last a very few days anyway. So, sounds like your plant
is fairly typical and the pink is going to be on the alternating
slender petals.
He also says (quoted without direct permission :->)
"There's also a "pink" form of the double bloodroot with the cultivar
name of
'Newington'. It's very vigorous and has increased rapidly, but if you
blink,
you may miss the pink, which is only seen in the bud."
Now, that does sound nice. Had the double for one year and it
departed - what a really lovely flower and longer lasting than the
singles, tho' the plant wasn't. Keep meaning to acquire this again.
Pink buds would be really nice.
