<< Bill, Hope you enjoy your visit to the PNW this coming weekend. Hope to
visit the Daff show as my friend Jeanie Driver (Bonnie Brae Gardens) is so
involved. Just out of curiosity, if you double dig your soil to 3 ft (I
would be digging Columbia River Gorge boulders at that depth), then how deep
do you plant your bulbs? >>
Hope to meet you there! I know Jeanie too and just received her last list.
She and Frank have announced that this is the last year for them to offer
bulbs for sale. She carries some that no one else does, and a good selection
of miniature daffodils.
As for daffodil bulb planting depth, I try to get them down about 8" or so.
They can stand 5-6" for that matter, but some people have recommended
slightly deeper planting for show purposes. I don't measure, though--I just
eyeball it. I also put a little grit and 5-20-20 in the hole and mix it in
well before setting the bulb.
