Oh, I'm tired and sore.. I hate moving. Thank you everyone for the replies, and I will do my best to keep you posted. In one of the replies, someone was asking about the big boy tool called a BOBCAT. A Bobcat is a small front load tractor. It doesn't look like a typical tractor, but it has a front load bucket. The reason why I am using a Bobcat, is due to my past experience with Bobcats and the availability of them at rental stores. Bobcats run from 100USD to 200USD for 8 hours of use.
My current soil is a very hard hardpan. In discussions with the soil movers, they stated they had a hard time moving the soil with a large Cat (very large tractor) and had to bring in a large backhoe to dig it out.
With this knowledge in hand, I was concern about water drainage. Once the final grade was done, I could see that there was sufficient enough grade in the yard to ease my worries about water pooling.
On the Bobcat, my goal was not to remove any extra soil but to distribute the soil I purchased. I have 60 yards of soil that needed to be distributed through out the yard. The Bobcat makes the process very easy for such a large quantity of soil. I have used 10 yards of soil all ready just for the sidewalk inspection. I was required to fill in between the road and sidewalk with soil and add 2 feet of level soil from the sidewalk towards the house.
Boy, it's hard to type and think this early in the morning.
Future thoughts...
1) buying rocks for a rock wall and build it. I will explain this process
2) rent a Bobcat with tracks (tracks are used to get around in the mud) and move soil
3) buy sod... wife wants an instant lawn for the kids..
Oh, forgot.... yes I did take some plants... to bad I could not take my greenhouse that I just wired for heat and lights.
