Rosalie,
C. x durandii is such a lovely blue. Somehow, I managed to kill mine and I
haven't a clue what happened. I replaced it with C. Horn of Plenty because
I couldn't find another durandii. This will be the second year for it and
I'm hopeful it will put on a good show. Have you seen C. 'Fuji Masume'? It
is also a beautiful blue, but much shorter - only about 6 feet. It is nice
in a container. The flowers are huge and a very sweet cornflower (or
morning glory) blue. One can never have too many vines or too much blue.

ToMarilyn Dube:
I too love blue, even if it veers a tad toward
pink or purple. Last year i finally got Clematis
x Durandii--it was quickly sold out in past
years. Though it will take some time to become
floriferous and full, I love its blue, which
stands up to bright sun, where it has begun to
sprawl through neighboring plants and twine
through an obelisk. --- Rosalie Frost
