RE: SPRING--Unknown Daffodil

Bill,
Grant Mitsch Nursery is only about 30 miles south of me and that name
started things percolating in my poor old brain. Jeanie Driver (Bonnie Brae
Daffodil Nursery - now retired) is in my Hardy Plant Society study group and
she was most generous gifting us with Daffodil bulbs during the years they
were closing out their mail order stock. She had many Mitch introductions,
so it is quite likely that I received the bulbs from her.

Jetfire is an older Grant Mitsch daffodil that is widespread in commerce.
I've frequently seen it in local stores. So if you did buy it locally, that
does not rule out its being Jetfire. If you do have those reflexed petals,
then I think Jetfire is a safe guess. It is also a good forcer for pot
culture.
