Re: Re: now winter plant heaving-perennials DIGEST V3 #47

Here 40 miles south of Chgo... my fence posts heaved, as top rail is no longer straight or matching up with anything. Time will tell of plant damage as everything is still in hybernation, and doesn't appear they are out of the ground. Thought it was interesting that last weekend in my attempt to clean up, as I grabbed my hosta dead leaves, the whole darn plant came up... thinking this is really strange since in summer you can not even get them out of the ground without a fight. I replanted and am hoping for the best. This may be normal, since I usually don't get around to doing this till late April... but with the unseasonable weather this year, thought I would get a head start on it. Did notice fresh growth coming from the root ball..so?

Pond survived well and plants there are already coming to life, didn't effect the plumbing for the waterfall which is now back up and running. Daffidols and other spring bulbs have surfaced, but no blooms yet. Weather has been very warm for the last week, but expecting snow by the weekend :(

And for those who heard about the meteor last night, it hit about 4 blocks from where I work..... It is a zoo over there..:)
