Susan,
   I'm not sure you ever stop looking for them, or hearing their bells..
but it does get better.. and remember when we finally go to the great
garden in the sky (where there are no slugs) our pets will be the first
ones to great us.
   I will ask my two angel kitties to keep an eye out for Spike and take
care of him until that day.
