Planting Tiggers garden

I planted Tiggers grave this afternoon. Moved 2 dwarf var. Boxleaf
euonymous to either side of the flower carpet rose already there. Moved
some of the "Pickwick" purple and white striped crocus into the line
between the 2 var. boxleaf euonymous. A neighbor gave us a nice clump of
her pale purple crocus that were in bloom when he died.
Behind that we added 3 creeping phlox with the candy stiped blooms, and
placed the 3 new vareigated Iris Pallida just behind them. I set the Batik
iris from Dr Lannon's in the middle of these.
A miniature rose Jolly Cupido (ruixandra) from a pot on the front porch is
just in front of Tiggers stone. It has purple and white striped blooms.
Tiggers stone is just a 14 inch tall by 6 inch wide chunk of granite
riprap from the pond waterfall. Just enough to remind me of exactly where
he is buried without being too much. I don't want it so obviously a
gravesite that friends feel a need to comment on it.
Planted 5 large tubers of the new Canna Striata (white and green large
stripes) in back and around the stone. Will add 2 more of these tomorrow.
They and the vareigated iris just came in from Von Bourgandine this week.
I also need to add some of the hardy blue plumbago back into the bed. I
had to dig it all up before I dug his grave. I gave some of it to our vet
and her assistant to plant in their gardens as a reminder of Tigger. They
are both wonderful people.
I'm going to add some "Celebrity Ice" blue petunias later this summer and
I need to go up to Smithfield Gardens and get a Bengal Tiger canna. At $9
for a one gallon pot they were a little pricey, I skipped it last summer,
but the stipes vary enough from plant to plant that I want to get a perfect
one.
Our one rosemary still needs to be moved, but I'm going to put it near the
path to the garden, so I can brush against it (when it gets a lot bigger
<VBG>) as I go down the path.
We have a few striped hosta's and some phalaris grass that I might move in
later, but I need to see how big everything else will get first.
Thank you to everyone. I already had some of the plants you mentioned and
it was nice to be able to just move them in and have it mostly planted
already.
 Thanks again
