I would like to ask if anyone else has run into a fantastic new book
which I saw on display around Christmas, and just had to have. I find I
consult it everyday now, especially after reading my email! It is
BOTANICA, by. R.G. Turner, subtitled The Most complete Garden
Encyclopedia Ever Published, over 10,000 plants described, with complete
details on cultivation, propagation and growing zones; illustrated with
over 6500 full-color photographs. It is published by Barnes & Noble,
and thus only available from them probably. cost $50., and included a
CD Rom plant database which I haven't used yet. I think you have to pay
more for a database which you can use interactively, but I am not sure
about that, as I haven't looked at the program much.
Anyway, if anyone else has seen this huge book (large in size and over
1000 pages), I would appreciate their reactions. Have I been taken in
by its beautiful pictures? (I have no connection with Barnes & Noble,
except that I buy online from them a good deal, but ran into this in
their bookstore.) If someone likes it, it might make a good gift
suggestion!
