I have some columbines seeded myself. I took advice from a previous post and
put the seeds in a cut off soft drink bottle, held against the sides by a damp
towel rolled up in the bottle. The seeds are very visible. In another week I
will put them in the fridge. My fear is that I read somewhere that they have to
be watched closely in the fridge since they may germinate there.

I know from experience of trying to germinate under lights with the lights off
until they sprout is risky, with VERY spindly plants resulting if not caught
immediately when they break the surface. I guess one could put lights in the
fridge, but the logistics sound messy.
