Well, I'm pushing the envelope on this one, but I've decided to give buddleia
a try in my Ottawa garden. I'm growing a "mix" of varieties from seed so if
the experiment fails, it won't have been a costly one! If they bloom first
year, I'll get at least 1 bloom season out of them.

I'm planning to plant them out in large containers. The question is: where
should I overwinter them? I have an unheated garden shed which will offer
some protection, but will still be cold. I was thinking of wrapping the
containers in burlap or something for extra insulation. I don't have any
semi-heated location (no attached garage). The only other alternative would be
to bring it in for the winter. I don't know how they'll feel about being kept
in warm conditions all winter.

Any suggestions?

I think you will find that they are "hardy" in Ottawa. I had them in Upper New York State and they came back every year.
