A good starter book for me was the "Flower
Finder," and I don't remember the author's
name. One of them may have been Jacqueline
Heriteau (sp?) TONS of pictures, broken down
several different ways, by bulbs, perennials for
sun/summer or shade/summer, etc. And then
even a section on theme gardens (cottage, herb,
etc.). It had lots of information, including
PRONOUNCIATION! But one of your greatest
sources is catalogues, really. For instance,
Milleagers is one of the few that gives lots of
pictures and BOTH dimensions of a plant
(height and width). Wayside catalogue has
gorgeous pictures, but is spendy. I don't often
order but love getting the catalogue.
