The three scents that just knock me out are tuberoses, lilacs, and
hyacinths. The tuberoses are one of my current gardening campaigns. I am
planning to give them a try again this summer. (The last, and only time I
smelled them was when I was a little girl and an aunt grew them one
summer.) Last summer I planted some, they put up lots of foliage, but did
not bloom. I dug the bulbs and will pot them this summer, instead of
putting them in the ground, and plan to put the pot in an area surrounded
by concrete walls (without, of course, blocking the sunlight) to retain as
much warmth as possible.
