Dear Anelle,

Not organized but happy.

I list the purchases on a piece of paper, any paper and try to note where I
place the plant. I stick the papers in a folder in the shed. For quite a
while, I placed the tags or marker or made a marker and placed it with the
plant. Now I chuck the tags into a basket which I sort in the fall.

There is only so much time and there is more pleasure gazing at the garden,
admiring your handiwork, giving the plants a hand where they require it than
mapping a record.

I am sure this will bring other opinions but it is to be remembered that
gardening should not be become laden with resented chores. Plant markers
have been a major aggravation to me. I often bury the the marker under or
aside the plant where it lies preserved nearly forever.
